George Fentham School
Under the new 2008 Instrument of Government the School Governors now number 14, 8 of whom are appointed by the Charity. The Board of Governors is responsible for the external repairs and alterations to the School buildings which are the property of the Education Foundation, as is the land around the School. The Board of Governors submits its requests to the Trustees for any expenditure it cannot afford from its normal LEA budget. As the Educational Foundation’s income is small application will often have to be made to the main Charity.
In addition to its close involvement with the School the Trust is able to make grants to individuals, as it considers appropriate, for educational purposes. Beneficiaries must have resided within the Parish for the previous two years and attend an interview with the Trustees.
